KISHTWAR

The National Conference Youth President remark that the ruling PDP and BJP were behind stoking violence in Kishtwar District in past created a ruckus during the public meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar at new DC Office Complex Kishtwar.

NC youth President Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Dev while expressing his views on situation in Kashmir post Burhan Wani killing said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is watching a barbaric act on the street of Kashmir as mute spectator and added that the first women Chief Minister instead of leading from the front had gone into hiding since the unrest begins in Kashmir in which dozens of people were killed while thousands other got injured by excessive use of force which include permanent blindness to scores of people.

He said that peaceful situation in Kishtwar is testimony to the fact that parties like PDP and BJP who are in government today were behind creating unrest in Kishtwar District in past during NC government.

NC youth President was referring to 2013 Kishtwar communal violence, which took place during NC-Congress government led by Omar Abdullah.

“Today they (BJP/PDP) were in power, hence there was no violence today,” NC Youth President said.

The remarks made by NC youth President made PDP-BJP leaders present in meeting angry who blamed NC leader for playing politics with an aim to divide the society and accused the party of killing 110 innocent people in 2010 summer unrest

Coming to the rescue of NC Youth President, former District President Congress Kishtwar Pardeep Singh Parihar said that one wrong could not be justified with other wrong. He said that the mistake committed by the previous government doesn’t authenticate the present government to unleash the barbaric act of killings of innocent people.

The order in the meeting was restored only after the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.
