Asking people to remain cautious about the vicious plans of the state government and New Delhi of making Kashmiris economically, politically and socially indigent and dependent on India, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday said that the so-called Jammu Kashmir Assembly has been used by the “so-called peoples’ representatives” to implement all such laws and policies which are totally against the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, a statement issued by the amalgam here read.

Addressing the Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Mirwaiz said all the governments which came to power since 1947 implemented such policies which were aimed to disempower Kashmiris.

He said those who used to call BJP an enemy had now joined hands with them and were implementing “Saffron agenda” here.

The APHC (m) Chairperson said in the name of NEET, Sainik Colonies and now the new Industrial Policy, every tactic was being used to grab the lands of Kashmiris.

He said thousands of acres of land is already under the “illegal occupation” of the “Indian” Army and now more land is being provided to the “non-state subject industrialists” on the pretext of establishment of industries here.

Mirwaiz said as per the information, 300 kanals of land had been provided to “non-state subject holders” and 90 kanals of land had been allotted to non-local corporations, the statement added.

Urging the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) and other business organizations to create awareness about these issues among the public, he said APHC, with the support of the people, will oppose tooth and nail any such move by the government.

Mirwaiz, the statement quoted, said that the number of educated unemployed youth was one and a half lakh in 2007 which had increased to 7 lakh in 2014. In this regard, he said, J&K Bank which is a very important financial institution of Jammu and Kashmir, instead of providing loans worth billions to the non-locals, should provide adequate loans to the unemployed youth of the state on easy installments so as to enable them to set-up their own industries and business units which could increase the employment chances in Kashmir and become an effective means to minimize unemployment from the state.

Mirwaiz further said that the local businessmen and industrialists who have been provided with the facilities of land etc in various industrial estates should utilize it fully in order to increase industrial production and employment opportunities for Kashmiri’s.

Referring to the 26th martyrdom anniversary of the “Shaheed-e-Millat” Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and

“Martyrs of Hawal”, Mirwaiz said, glowing tributes would be paid to him during the “Haftaa-e-Shahadat” programme that will start from May 16, 2016.

Mirwaiz said May 21, 1990 was one of the darkest days of Kashmir history when under a well-planned conspiracy “Shaheed-e-Millat” was “martyred” to silence the voice of Kashmiris and the voice that is raised from the pulpit of Jamia Masjid that represents the aspirations of Kashmiris.

The APHC (m) Chairperson said that nations possessing strong will and conscience do not forget their “martyrs” and to remember the sacrifices of these “martyrs”, the “Haftaa-e-Shahadat” programme provides an opportunity to recall their “martyrdom”, pay glowing tributes to them and make a resolve to carry forward their mission to its logical conclusion.
