As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released 11-point list of demands to the BJP, based on which the party would decide government formation, the National Conference (NC) Tuesday said that the PDP’s agenda is a mere joke as they never talked about such issues over the past six years.

Nasir Aslam Wani told KNS that the list which PDP has framed is nothing ‘but to befool the people of Kashmir.’ “The agenda which PDP has framed is nothing but a move to befool the people of Jammu and Kashmir who voted them to keep the BJP away from the state,” he said.

“They are the people who during the elections were advocating that PDP only can stop the communal party BJP and now they have joined the hands with the same party BJP,” Wani said. The question is why PDP didn’t talk about Article 370 over the past six years, he added.

“Why they didn’t demand revocation of AFSPA and why they didn’t advocate dialogue with Pakistan while sitting in opposition.” Wani asked.

The NC leader accused PDP of stealing the NC’s basic ideological issues. “NC has been on the fore front to protect the State’s special status and it was the National conference who took stand over the revocation of AFSPA. Our workers laid down their lives for upholding State’s identity and now PDP tries to become champions of Article 370,” he said.

Wani said that the former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had already sought power projects back from NHPC and as far as West Pakistan Refugees (WPR) issue is concerned, “we have already opposed the move. So PDP has nothing new to offer,” he said.”
