PDP Rajya Sabha MP from south Kashmir, Nazir Ahmad Laway was Saturday attacked by angry protestors in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, as per the eye-witnesses.
The eye-witnesses said Laway was roughed up and one of the vehicles in his cavalcade was set ablaze by the protesters in Bugam area of the district.
They said Laway had arrived to take part in an official function being organized in a higher secondary school in the village when the residents attacked him.
The locals, it is said, had warned the school authorities against hosting any pro-India politician in school building.
After the incident, police had to resort to tear gas shelling to disperse the protesters.
