Seeking support of people of Jammu and Kashmir to change their destinies, patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today reiterated resolve of his party to create a system of equitable justice, growth and development for all the three regions and every section of society while addressing a function to welcome large number of political activists from Vijaypur who have joined PDP today.
“It is the people who ensure peace, security and development in their respective areas so with the power of people I want to change the system”, he said.
Welcoming new entrants in PDP, Mufti assured the gathering of his party’s resolve to fulfill aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the state.
Talking about the role played by PDP, Mufti as per the party spokesperson said that his party has emerged as genuine, strong and credible voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through its convictions and visionary policies. “The pro people visionary agenda of the party is formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society and we never compromised with our agenda for attaining power,” said the PDP patron.
Terming PDP as a change agent and not power hungry, Mufti said, “The aim of PDP was not only to attain power but to change fate of people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
In his address Mufti lauded successive NDA and UPA governments for supporting him in developmental agenda led by the PDP regime.
“It was result of our conviction that successive governments at New Delhi supported whatever steps we had taken during our tenure,” he said.
Taking credit of for various developmental projects started in Samba, Mufti mentioned that district status was given to Samba and Degree College was also opened in Samba during his tenure.
The meeting was attended by various party leaders and prominent among those who joined PDP included Dr Desraj, Madan Choudhary, Shiv Dayal, Paul Singh, Krishan Lal, Mohan Lal, Som Dutt.
