SRINAGAR: Mehbooba Mufti, president of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Monday visited the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, marking her first appearance in the House since 2018.
She was present in the Speaker’s gallery during the ongoing proceedings.
Her visit comes nearly seven years after the 2018 collapse of the PDP–BJP coalition government collapse 2018, when the Bharatiya Janata Party withdrew support, leading to the fall of her government. Mufti, the first woman Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, had headed the PDP–BJP coalition administration from April 2016 to June 2018.
