SRINAGAR: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday staged a protest in Jammu against the recent increase in electricity tariffs, saying the move would place an additional financial burden on ordinary consumers already struggling with rising prices of essential commodities.
PDP protesters raised objections to the tariff hike and urged the authorities to reconsider the decision, arguing that higher electricity charges would further strain household budgets.
The party said the increase would particularly affect the common person at a time when people are already facing increased costs of essential goods and other household expenses.
The protest comes amid concerns over the impact of higher power tariffs on consumers across Jammu and Kashmir.
The PDP called for measures to ease the financial burden on households and sought a review of the tariff increase.
