SRINAGAR

Launching a counter attack on People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senior National Conference (NC) leader and Rural Development Minster, Ali Muhammad Sagar Sunday termed the statement of PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti as mere frustration and claimed the party has lost its track and now finds it hard to show its existence in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Now they have started propaganda against the NC,” Sagar told a local news agency, KNS.

Mehbooba Mufti had Saturday blamed that only objective of the ruling NC was to grab the power.

“PDP leadership has started propaganda against the NC by issuing baseless statements. They are trying to defame the NC for which they keep on playing dirty politics,” Sagar claimed.

Lashing out at PDP leader Muzafar Hussian Baig for his statement where he had said that the NC was taking advantage of boycott call in elections, Sagar said, “Till now boycott calls have always kept NC at the receiving end so it is rubbish.”

“People are with the NC and they cast their votes in favour of our party. It is a routine matter now for PDP to blame NC for everything. This party (PDP) is losing ground and it is agenda less. It is looking for an agenda and that’s why it frequently defames our party,” he told KNS.

Commenting on Baig’s statement that PDP will win 35-40 seats in the 2014 Assembly polls, the NC leader said, “There is nothing wrong if someone claims that it will win majority seats. But it is only people who will decide the fate of political parties.”

Meanwhile, hitting out at Mehbooba, Provincial President of the NC Nasir Aslam Wani said, “It is the party which can go to any extent for the power. People of the state must remain vigilant with the conspiracies and communal politics of PDP as they have accepted its defeat in advance.”

“The party is devoid of any political agenda and hence is resorting to such cheap politics,” Nasir told KNS.

Commenting on AFSPA he said, “AFSPA is the creation of PDP and people are being punished by the decision taken by Mufti (Mohammad Sayeed). We are committed to revocation of AFSPA and will ensure it is done soon since our point is based on logic.”

“Defeat and rejection (is making) them frustrated and now they are making propaganda against the NC,” Wani added.

Terming statement of Baig as mere joke where he had said that election boycott benefits the NC, he said, “How come Baig won Baramulla seat despite boycott? He (Baig) should tell us how come NC won seats in the areas where people did not boycott elections?” he asked.
