SRINAGAR: In a new development, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing president Waheed ur Rehman Para who was shifted from Central Jail Srinagar to Kot Balwal Jail in Jammu on June 18, has been brought back to Central Jail Srinagar on Sunday afternoon.

Not an iota of information is available about why he was taken out of Central Jail Srinagar or why he was brought back within two days. Some of Para’s relatives who were approached by this reporter said they have no idea why he was taken out or brought back. They even said they have no idea if the report of him being brought back are correct.

His transfer to Kot Balwal jail came within days after unnamed sources in the government said the federal investigator has approached Google to retrieve Para’s e-mail so that his nexus with Pakistan based militants can be established.

It’s pertinent to mention here that PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s uncle who was detained in the MLA hostel for the last six months was released yesterday, which is being viewed as a confidence-building measure in the wake of the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with 14 Jammu and Kashmir leaders on June 24, at his residence in Delhi.
