SRINAGAR: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA from Pulwama, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, on Tuesday, said they have positive hopes for the Omar Abdullah-led government’s first budget, which the Chief Minister himself will present on March 7 in the Legislative Assembly.
Parra said, “We are hopeful that the budget will be as per the demands of the people, who are witnessing a popular government after a long time. The government should address the anxiety of the people. The issues of salaries, employees, pensions, and bills should be addressed.”
The budget session will commence in Jammu on March 3. This will be the maiden budget session of the elected government in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Earlier, the budget for Jammu and Kashmir was presented in the Parliament after 2019, as the UT was under a prolonged spell of President’s rule, which ended in October last year.
CM Abdullah held a series of pre-budget consultations with public representatives across Jammu and Kashmir to receive their suggestions, which he said is pivotal for accommodating public aspirations. (KNO)
