SRINAGAR: A pedestrian died after being hit by a tipper in the Shilwat Highway–Sheikhzoo Road area on Saturday evening. The accident involved a tipper bearing registration number JK01AH 5611 driven by a resident of Ganderbal.
Officials said that the vehicle struck pedestrian Abdul Rashid Garoo, son of Late Abdul Aziz Garoo, a resident of Wangipora Payeen Sumbal. The fifty-three-year-old man sustained critical injuries and was immediately shifted to CHC Sumbal for medical treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said the accident site falls under the jurisdiction of Ganderbal and further proceedings have been initiated. [KNT]
