SRINAGAR: A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a fast-moving two-wheeler in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, according to official sources.
The incident occurred when an individual was hit by a motorcyclist riding a two-wheeler with the registration number JK03M 6243 at the Danwethpora Sagam area of Kokernag. Following the accident, the victim was immediately taken to a nearby healthcare facility, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Naikoo, son of Abdul Jabbar, a resident of Zaldoora Qazigund. The alleged driver responsible for the incident has been identified as Mashooq Majeed, son of Abdul Majeed Sheikh, a resident of Soaf Shali.
A police official has confirmed the incident, stating that they have taken note of the situation and are investigating the matter. (GNS)
