SRINAGAR: A pedestrian lost his life after being run over by a truck on the National Highway in the Barsoo Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
An official said that the accident occurred when a truck, bearing registration number GJ39T-4614, travelling from Srinagar towards Anantnag, hit a pedestrian at Barsoo, Awantipora. The pedestrian died on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Moomin Tariq Mir, son of Tariq Ahmad, a resident of Barsoo.
The police have taken cognisance of the incident, and further investigations are underway. (JKNS)
