The Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Thursday nominated Peer Mohammad Hussain as Vice Chairman of the J&K Wakaf Board, till the Vice Chairman is elected formally. He shall also perform the functions of the Chief Executive Officer of the Board, in addition to his own duties.
As per SRO-84, issued by the Department of Justice, Law & Parliamentary Affairs, the Chief Minister, pursuant to the powers vested in him under Section 6 of the Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Specified Wakafs & Specified Wakaf Properties Act, 2004, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors, nominated Peer Mohammad Hussain as Member of the Board.
Further, pursuant to the proviso to sub-section (1) of the Section 9 of the said Act, the Chief Minister nominated Peer Mohammad Hussain, Member of the Board, as Vice Chairman of the said Board, till the Vice Chairman is elected formally.
