Syed Hanan, a grandson of prominent Islamic scholar Peer Bashir-u- Din, passed away on Sunday.
According to a family source, Hanan, son of Syed Anatullah, a resident of Dooro Dangerpora Sopore town of Baramulla district, died on Sunday evening when he was taking a bath along with his friends in a river at Seelo Babgund, in Sopore.
The body of the deceased was later retrieved by the locals after hectic efforts and handed over to the family for last rites. The family source added that people from different walks of life are visiting the family for condolences.
