National Conference Working President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday said that people of all regions and sub-regions of the State are equally dear to him and his sacred mission in politics is to serve the people sincerely and equitably. “For the greater goal of prosperity and dignity of J&K, the constituency from which I contest can never be a hurdle for our vision for our State and its people. Ganderbal, Sonwar, Beerwah and every single constituency of J&K is equally dear to me and will always receive equal and focused attention from me”, Omar Abdullah said while addressing senior political activists and youth activists from Sonwar and Beerwah who visited his residence to express their joy and gratitude to him for choosing to fight the coming Assembly Elections from there.
While expressing his thanks to the visiting delegations for reposing theirfaith in him and in the policy, vision and ideology of National Conference, Omar Abdullah said that National Conference has been the courageous and honest voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at every crucial juncture of history.”History bears testimony to the fact that National Conference has withstood numerous challenges and political intrigues in the past and has never ceased to represent the aspirations of the people above and beyond partisan and self-seeking politics. Owing to the association of National Conference with the people of this State at the grassroots level, our bond is timeless, sacred and will forever remain strong”, Omar Abdullah said.
Omar said that National Conference has always and will always treat politics as a means to a greater end and not as an ambition in itself. “We have always looked at politics as a tool to uphold the dignity and aspirations of our people – as a medium to improve the lives of our people and set the edifice of a brighter future for our children. Our vision is that of a strong, prosperous and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir, where our people live in peace, amity and strive for the growth and betterment of our State. Unlike others, we are not guided by the destructive, self-centered goal of power at any cost. I assure you that National Conference will always, without any inhibitions continue to be the voice of the people and we will always treat your trust”, Omar Abdullah said.
The Working President of National Conference said that he will continue to carry forward the legacy of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and will spare no efforts to nurture the State economically, socially and politically in line with the ideals of his grand father. “Today I bear the torch of those values of National Conference that you have irrigated with your blood and those that you have devoted your lives for. We will together strive for the dream of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and protect our State from all intrigues and conspiracies”, Omar said.
Omar Abdullah said the comprehensive and holistic development of youth in Jammu and Kashmir has been his focus in politics and he will continue to bat for the all-round development, employability enhancement, skill development and bright future for the youth of the J&K. “My party has always given foremost priority to the development and progress of our youth and we will continue to pursue a youth-oriented vision. My commitment to the youth of J&K is above and beyond politics and I will never cease to strive for their welfare and prosperity”, the NC Working President said.
Lauding the spirit of service that workers of National Conference hold dear to them, Omar Abdullah said that the workers of the party despite phases of tumult and turmoil worked relentlessly for the party and its ideals. “Our workers faced unimaginable challenges with determination, dignity and valor and we will together continue in the pursuit of our vision for the State”, Omar Abdullah said.
Omar Abdullah referred to the sacrifices made by the National Conference leadership and its workers time and again for the dignity of the State and expressed the hope that the people of the State would once again join hands for the larger interests of the State and ensure a historic victory for National Conference in the coming Assembly Elections.
The visiting delegations of senior activists, workers and youth activists of Sonwar and Beerwah constituencies assured their support to National Conference and its candidates in the upcoming Elections and reposed full faith in the leadership of Omar Abdullah and in the vision and dream of National Conference.
