SRINAGAR: Peoples Conference paid tributes to commemorate the martyrdom of late Abdul Gani Lone and Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq and for their immense contribution to uphold the dignity and honour of the people of Kashmir.
“We pay homage to Late Abdul Gani Lone and Late Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq for the supreme sacrifice they made for Kashmir. Both the leaders rendered sacrifice for peace and for the sake of the Kashmiri people. They remind us of a golden era of politics where moderate politics and intellectualism were the defining attributes of leadership. Their memory will always remain but the plight of the Kashmiris, their disempowerment makes their absence felt even more fondly,” PC Chief Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu said in a statement.
Junaid further said that both leaders were victims of violence prevalent in the state for the last three decades.
“We also want the people to remember that scourge of violence consumed late Lone sahib and Mirwaiz Sahib. We pray and hope that this violence comes to an end,” he added.
Meanwhile, PC senior vice president Abdul Gani Vakil, Bashir Ahmad Dar, Raja Aijaz Ali, Mohammad Abbas Wani, Irfan Panditpori, Mohd Sulaiman, Rashid Mehmood, Adnan Ashraf Mir among others also paid glowing tributes to Late Abdul Gani Lone and Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq for their invaluable sacrifice.
