SRINAGAR: The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has notified the commencement of Phase-II undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session in Government Degree Colleges across the Union Territory.
The admission process is open to candidates who have qualified the Class 12 Biannual, Supplementary or Private Examination for the 2026 session, whose results have been declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education or other recognised boards.
Admissions will be conducted through the department’s Centralised Admission Portal, jkadmissions.in, with vacant seats to be filled through in-person counselling and walk-in admissions.
Candidates who registered during Phase-I but could not secure admission, those allotted seats but unable to complete the admission formalities, and applicants whose applications were rejected during verification may also participate in Phase-II, subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria.
However, candidates who confirmed admission during Phase-I, as well as those who cancelled a confirmed admission, will not be eligible to participate in Phase-II.
Fresh applicants are required to register online through the Centralised Admission Portal and pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 200. Applicants have been advised to verify their mobile numbers and email addresses on the portal to ensure they receive admission-related communications.
The department has asked aspirants to check available vacancies on the portal and submit an adequate number of carefully considered programme choices. Counselling and Facilitation Centres at all Government Degree Colleges will assist candidates with registration and choice submission.
Director Colleges J&K, Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, urged eligible candidates who have qualified the biannual examination to complete the admission process within the notified timelines.
The department has also advised candidates to regularly check the JK Admissions Portal and the official WhatsApp Channel for Admissions 2026-27, linked through the portal, for updates, notices and schedules.
Phase-II admissions will conclude on September 10, 2026, after which no further admissions will be permitted.
