Scores of protesters from various districts of Kashmir valley assembled here at Partap park along with their families especially children demanding the release of their wages and regularization of their services

Chairman of the association, Sajad Ahmad Parray while talking to media decried delay in resolution of their long-standing demands. “We have been demanding payment of the pending salaries and regularisation of jobs under SRO-520,” Parray said.

“Due to delay in the release of salary we are facing financial problems. We have been working sincerely but ironically our wages are pending for several months” the protestors said.

The eight-year Farqanda, daughter of a protester from Nawakadal said, “my father is an only bread earner in our family, unfortunately, his wages are pending from past five months due to which I and my sister are not able to go school. I request to Governor to release the salary of my father so that we will continue our studies.”

They alleged that due to non-release of their wages, their families are facing starvation. They were unable to pay the school fee of their children.

The protesters requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter.
