Srinagar: PHE department employees in Sumbal on Tuesday, protested against the army for allegedly beating two employees during duty hours in north Kashmiri’s Bandipora district.
Outside the SDM office, many employees gathered and raised anti-army slogans and demanded the prompt action against the army.
“During the intervening night of the 25 26 November, army personnel from 13 RR entered onto the premises of water supply scheme Hajin. They beat two on-duty employees namely Ashiq Husain Wani and Firdous Ahmad without any reason, said one of the protesting members.
The employees have also decided to lock down all the water supply schemes in Sonawari constituency till action is taken against the army personnel.
