SRINAGAR: A pigeon suspected to have flown in from Pakistan was recovered in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district, with security agencies examining a ring found tied to its leg to determine the bird’s origin and the purpose of the marking.
Officials said the pigeon was found carrying the ring and was suspected to have crossed into the area from across the international border.
The bird has been taken into the custody of security agencies, which are examining the ring and other details associated with it to establish its origin and determine whether it carries any significance.
The recovery is the fourth such incident reported from the Hiranagar sector in recent times.
