SRINAGAR: A pigeon suspected to have flown in from across the border was found in the RS Pura sector of Jammu district, officials said.
Quoting officials, news agency GNS reported that the bird was carrying a ring inscribed with a Pakistani mobile phone number. The pigeon was captured by locals, who later handed it over to the security forces.
Security agencies have taken cognisance of the matter and initiated an investigation to ascertain the origin of the pigeon and the purpose of the ring, officials said.
Further investigation is underway, they added.
