SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced that the Government will establish fast-track courts to expedite the trial of paper leak cases and ensure stringent punishment for those involved, saying the welfare and future of the country’s students remain the government’s foremost priority.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the decision was aimed at protecting the interests of students and ensuring that those responsible for compromising the integrity of examinations are brought to justice without delay.
“Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth. We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks,” Modi said.
He added that the concerned authorities and officials had been directed to take all necessary steps for the implementation of the decision, describing it as another significant measure to safeguard students’ interests.
The Prime Minister also issued a stern warning to those involved in examination fraud, saying that anyone attempting to jeopardise the future of the country’s youth would face strict action.
“Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring fairness, transparency and credibility in public examinations.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of widespread protests by students and job aspirants over the alleged NEET paper leak.
Several recruitment and competitive examinations have faced allegations of question paper leaks in recent years, triggering demands for tougher legal provisions, faster investigations and stronger safeguards to preserve the integrity of examinations and protect the future of millions of candidates.
