The talks followed a catastrophic cloudburst that struck the mountainous region near Machail Mata Shrine in Kishtwar, triggering flash floods that washed away makeshift camps, a community kitchen, and local infrastructure. The disaster has claimed over 65 lives, left hundreds missing, and sparked a substantial rescue and relief effort involving multiple agencies, including the Civil Administration, Army, NDRF, SDRF, and local police forces.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is expected to visit the affected area later today in a bid to oversee ongoing efforts and coordinate further assistance.
