PM Modi Modi to Lay Foundation for Rs 1500 Crore Projects in Jammu and Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch and lay the groundwork for 84 important developmental projects costing more than Rs 1500 crore in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, media reports said.

According to a PMO announcement, the inaugurations will feature projects such as road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and higher education infrastructure, among others. The Prime Minister will also set the groundwork for projects such as improving the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri section, developing industrial estates, and constructing six Government Degree Colleges.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch a Rs 1,800 crore project called Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors (JKCIP). This initiative will be conducted in 90 blocks across 20 districts in Jammu & Kashmir, with a total project outreach of 300,000 households and 15 lakh beneficiaries.

During his visit, PM Modi will attend the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming JK’ event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.

The Prime Minister will also give appointment letters to nearly 2000 government employees.

A multi-tier security blanket has been put in place ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to the Union Territory. “It is a multi-tier security. As per the security protocols, a high-alert security arrangement has been made here,” IGP Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi said on Wednesday.
