Islamabad police on Thursday arrested a notorious fraudster in Achabal area of Islamabad district.

The spokesman said that a complaint was received by Rasool Teli resident of Uttresso in police station Achabal that an unknown person in the garb of assisting in the withdrawal of cash, fraudulently exchanged his ATM card with the card of the complainant and thereafter withdrew an amount of Rs 36000 from his account.

Fraudster arrested by police in Islamabad

On this information, a case FIR no 134/17 under section 420 RPC was registered in Police Station Achabal and investigation was set into the motion.

The police with the help of CCTV footage the fraudster was identified as Imran Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, a resident of Hardu -Schen Dialgam and arrested him.

Police said that the said cheater has looted many people during the past few years. Police said that the said person is impersonating and posturing himself as ATM guard in the different ATM cabins.

The said person is also booked in various cases like FIR NO 134/2017 under Section 420 RPC of Police station Achabal, FIR no.153/17 under Section 420,379 RPC of Police Station Bijbehara, FIR  NO. 17/18 under Section 420, 380 RPC of Police station Mattan, FIR. No. 30/18 under Section 420 RPC and FIR no.36/08 of Police station Ram Munshi Bagh Srinagar.

The people are requested not to share their PIN with unknown persons and seek the help of only bank officials in case of problem/inconvenience while withdrawing the cash from ATMs.
