SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Apolice spokesperson in a statement said, “A police team from Police Station Sheeri, led by the Station House Officer, apprehended the accused during a checkpoint at Zandfaran Link Road. The individual has been identified as Abid Rasheed Sofi, son of Abdul Rasheed Sofi, a resident of Heewan Baramulla.”
Police said 190 grams of a substance resembling charas was recovered from him. “A case under FIR No. 30/2025 has been registered at Police Station Sheeri under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is underway.”
