Police Arrest Four JeM Militant Associates in South Kashmir’s Tral

   

SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four Jaish-e-Mohammad militant associates in South Kashmir’s Awantipora.

Apolice spokesperson in a statement said the police said that, along with security forces, they arrested four militant associates of the proscribed militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad in Tral. “They have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Naik, son of Farooq Ahmad Naik, resident of Tral Payeen; Umar Nazir Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Kuchmulla; Inayat Firdoos Rather, son of Firdoos Ahmad Rather, resident of Tral Payeen; and Salman Nazir Lone, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, resident of Kounserbal, Tral.”

Incriminating materials belonging to the proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad were recovered from their possession.

It is pertinent to mention that all the arrested militant associates were involved in providing logistical support and transporting arms and ammunition to active terrorists of the proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad in the Tral and Awantipora areas of Police District Awantipora, the statement said.

“In this regard, a case under FIR No. 134/2024, under relevant sections of law, has been registered at Police Station Tral, and further investigation has been initiated, the statement added.”
