Police arrested ten gamblers in Bemina area here Saturday afternoon.

“Acting on a specific information, a team of police post Bemina headed by PSI Wasim Jahangir raided a gambling place and arrested 10 people,” a police statement said.

Giving details, the statement said that the arrested people are Manzoor Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar resident of Firdous Colony Bemina, Feroz Ahmad Daga son of Abdul Ahad resident of Barthana, Tariq Ahmad Shogoo son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Barthana Qamarwari, Ghulam Hassan Ganie son of Abdul Rahim resident of Fruit Mandi Barthana, Mohd Ashraf Mir son of Ghulam Mohd Mir resident of Barthana, Bilal Ahmad Nawhaji son of Ghulam Mohd resident of Mansoor Colony Bemina, Bilal Ahmad Masta son of Mohd yousf resident of Boatman Colony, Emaan Ahmad Langoo son of Ghulam Mohd resident of Boatman Colony, Nazir Ahmad Rah son of Abdul Karim resident of Firdous Colony and Riyaz Ah Shah son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Firdous colony Bemina.

“An FIR under section 13 Public Gambling act has been lodged in this regard.”

Meanwhile, the police statement said that an eighteen years old girl (name withheld) resident of Mohirpora Achabal, Islamabad consumed some poisonous   substance at her home.

“The girl was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment where she breathed her last. Achabal Police has registered a case in this regard,” the statement said.
