Police arrest Hurriyat activist at Islamabad

Police has arrested a Hurriyat activist Hussain Wagay, resident of Homhuna Shopian from Islamabad.

According to police, Wagay had gone underground in July, last year after the death of Burhan Wani.

“He was habitual of appearing in public processions and delivering provocative speeches and instigating people especially youth to engage in stone pelting and road blockages,” a police official said.

The police officials said that Wagay was also acting as OGW for local militants and responsible for recruitment of local youth into militancy.

“Numerous criminal cases are registered against him in various Police Stations of District Shopian.”
