Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a bootlegger and recovered a huge quantity of alcohol and premium beer bottles from his possession.
A police spokesperson said during naka checking at Sangam Bijbehara, a police party of Police Station Bijbehara apprehended one suspected person.
“During the search, a huge quantity of illegal alcohol and premium beer bottles were recovered from his possession,” he said.
“The bootlegger was identified as Sajad Ali Khan son of Gul Ali Khan resident of Ranbirpora Mattan Islamabad,” the spokesman said.
“In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation taken up,” he added.
