Police arrested 14 years old Faisal Amin Mir of Shopian Wednesday who was allegedly wanted in 12 cases pertaining to stone pelting and was evading his arrest from months together.

Police sources told Kashmir Life that Faisal, son of Mohammad Amin Mir a resident of Khanday Mohalla, Bonebazar Shopian was arrested in Gagren area, at the residence of one of his close relatives.

Known as ‘Chota Geelani’ Faisal, according to police sources was evading his arrest since a couple of months.

They added that Faisal was wanted in 12 FIRs including stone pelting.

Sources said that Faisal is a student of 9th class at Maktaba Islamia High School Shopian.

Superintendent of police, Shopian Showkat Ahmad Shah while confirming the arrest of ‘Chota Geelani’ told Kashmir Life that Faisal has spread ‘hooliganism’ in the town. “Faisal once entered in the Jamia Masjid to announce shutdown while smoking and left the bits in the Mosque.”

SP further said that Faisal is no doubt a student of 9th class but he is in the same class since last six years. “Faisal and his father M Amin are in fact drug paddlers,” SP said.

But according to School records, Faisal’s date of birth is 12th September 2000. “As per our admission records, Faisal was born on September 9, 2000,” School record in-charge told Kashmir Life.
