Police on Friday arrested a drug peddler and recovered brown sugar from his possession in Uri town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The spokesman said drug peddler identified as Nazir Ahmad Teehkray, son of Maqbool Tehkray, a resident of Jabla, Kamalkote has been arrested and 800 grams of brown sugar has been recovered from his possession.
The said consignment had been smuggled from Pakistan via LOC and the accused resides in the close vicinity of LOC.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 40/2018 under sections of 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Uri and further investigations have been taken up.
