The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested a SRTC employee in cheat case.

The spokesman said that Police Station Kothibagh received specific information that some JK SRTC employees are dishonestly gaining money from the general public by transporting the luggages without any authenticity and for their own personal profits from TRC Srinagar to outside State.

On receipt of this information, a case FIR No 08/2019 under section 420, 120-B RPC was registered.

Accordingly one accused namely Farooq Ahmed Bhat @Akhter son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Tailbal Srinagar (Ticket No 08/2019 distributor) was arrested. Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.

Meanwhile, police received complaints regarding selling of fake parking tickets near GPO residency road Srinagar.

Acting on these complaints, a police party of Police Station Kothibagh arrested one accused identified as Ishfaq Ahmed Reshi son of Shakeel Ahmed resident of Tangmarg along with fake parking tickets from the spot.

A case FIR No 07/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been taken up.
