Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed to have arrested three bootleggers and recovered illicit liquor from their possession.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that a police party of Police Station Maisuma, intercepted an Auto bearing registration number JK01K-0368 during a Naka checking at Budshah Bridge.

“During checking the auto, 16 bottles of illicit liquor was recovered from the possession of Waseem Raja Khanday (auto driver) son of Abdul Majeed Khanday resident of Qamarwari, Mahinder Mukhiya son of Kyloe Mukhiya and Rajash Kumar son of Shivaam Mehta resident of Bihar,” the spokesman said.

“A case FIR number 20 /2018 under section 48 excise Act has been registered in Police Station Maisuma and investigation has been taken up,” the spokesman said.
