SRINAGAR: Police in Bandipora have registered a case and arrested an individual for operating a Facebook page under the name “Kashmir Timer,” allegedly used to circulate radical content and promote anti-national sentiments.
A police spokesperson, in a statement said, “The accused, identified as Aijaz Ahmad Wani, son of Gh Hassan Wani and a resident of Bangar Mohalla Hajin, was reportedly using the platform to post misleading material targeting security forces and glorifying secessionist ideology. A case under FIR No. 31/2025 has been registered at Police Station Hajin, and an investigation is underway.”
Officials said Bandipora police are closely monitoring digital activity to address content that threatens public peace or promotes violence. “Any attempt to glorify terrorism, promote secessionism, or malign national institutions will be dealt with sternly,” they added.
