SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police have booked two drug peddlers under the PIT NDPS Act in North Kashmir’s Sopore after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
“The accused, identified as Firdous Ahmad Dar, son of Nazir Ahmad Dar, resident of Mahrajpora Sopore, and Firdous Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat, resident of Mazbugh Sopore, have been detained under the PIT NDPS Act. Following the formal detention orders, they were lodged in District Jail Udhampur and District Jail Kathua,” a police spokesperson in a statement said.
It is pertinent to mention that multiple cases are registered against these individuals, who were involved in promoting drug trade by supplying narcotics to local youth in Police District Sopore.
