kidnapPolice station Pattan on Tuesday busted a fake kidnapping drama after acting on a complaint lodged by one Rayees Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Gundaripora Pattan on May 19 that his brother Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, a government teacher, was kidnapped  by some unknown persons with the intention to kill/cause harm him.

“On receipt report, a case FIR No. 116/2013 under section 364 RPC was registered at police station Pattan and investigation taken up,” a police spokesman said. During the course of investigation, a police party proceeded towards the spot. The Mobile phone data of the abductee was perused.

“During further course of investigation, one Mudasir Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Gani resident of Hajibal, Tangmarg a friend of the kidnapped person was also questioned who disclosed that the kidnapped person had met him on May 19, at evening hours and borrowed Rs.2000 and told him that he has some dispute with his neighbors and had to go somewhere,” the police informed through its statement.

However, the kidnappee was brought to police station Pattan. “He was thoroughly questioned and he had no justification about being kidnapped,” the police spokesman said, adding, “during investigation, the facts/circumstances came to surface that the said person had staged this whole episode of being kidnapped by himself as he has some dispute of NREGA with a local contractor/neighbor Ali Mohammad Parray.”

The complaint lodged regarding kidnapping of said teacher was found bogus and flimsy and just to harass his neighbours. The immediate investigation by Police Pattan has solved the staged kidnapping
