SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday conducted surprise inspections of lockers belonging to doctors and staff across several hospitals as part of a wider security drive aimed at tightening institutional discipline and preventing misuse of healthcare facilities.
Police teams carried out the checks in coordination with hospital administrations to ensure adherence to security protocols and to curb any potential illegal activity within hospital premises. All staff lockers and storage areas were examined during the exercise.
Police also briefed medical and paramedical personnel on the importance of maintaining vigilance, reporting suspicious behaviour, and ensuring that hospital spaces are not exploited for unauthorised purposes.
Police said similar inspection drives will continue as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public institutions and ensure a secure environment for patients, attendants, and healthcare workers. Staff have been urged to cooperate fully and comply with established security guidelines.
