SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Budgam has denied the reports of two soldiers having been caught with two local girls outside the Srinagar airport. They said the soldiers and the two local ladies were separate.
The police statement said the two soldiers on their way to the airport had stopped at a local restaurant near Humhama Saturday morning.
“Two local ladies were already having their food at the spot. Some miscreants tried to create scene there, which attracted the attention of some of the locals. Police reached the spot and intervened,” a police spokesman told a newspaper.
During preliminary investigation, police have said it was found that the jawans and the girls were not together and also not known to each other. “Later the ladies were handed over to their parents,” another report in another newspaper said.
The report was earlier carried out by a local news gathering agency.
