SRINAGAR: The police in Shopian district of south Kashmir displayed lists of identified drug peddlers at all police stations and police posts across the district on Saturday.
Rogue galleries featuring photographs of such individuals have also been established at police establishments as part of the initiative.
Officials said the move is aimed at enhancing public awareness, promoting transparency, and deterring involvement in narcotics by signalling zero tolerance and strict legal action. It also seeks to strengthen community vigilance and support ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks in the district.
The police have urged the public to remain alert and share any information regarding drug peddling with the nearest police unit to ensure prompt action.
