SRINAGAR: Sopore family is seeking the body of their ward who was died after the arrest. The police have driven the body to Sonamarg where he is being laid to rest in a newly started graveyard were militants are being buried, sources said.

Dar’s family members and the local Auqaf had approached the police seeking the corpse for a decent burial. Initially, they were indirectly told that it will happen and later they denied saying the police will follow its own protocol.
Irfan, a shopkeeper was picked up from his residence and, according to the police spokesman, was taken to a distant location in the periphery where he escaped only to be discovered dead later. Police drove the body to the police control room where the body seemingly underwent an autopsy. Interestingly, the family said they have no access to what the police did to their ward after arrest and later after his death. They have been told that his body will be buried in Sonamarg.

The story of the death was broken by police by detailing its version of things. It was much later that the family reacted denying the police claims. His brother Javaid was also arrested by the police but was freed because of his deteriorating health in custody.
