Suspected militants on Tuesday attempted to snatch a rifle from police cops guarding Mirza Kamil Sahib shrine in Hawal area of Srinagar.
An official said that militants approached police guard at Hawal guarding the Mirza Kamil Shrine with an intention to loot weapons.
“However, the alert sentry fired some shots forcing the militants to flee,” he said, adding the area has been cordoned off to nab the assailants.
