SRINAGAR
Police arrested Hurriyat (M) media advisor, Shahid-ul-Islam for defying the restriction orders outside Awami Action Committee (AAC) head office at Rajouri Kadel on Saturday.
AAC members had gathered at their office in Mirwaiz Manzil to take out the procession up to Mazar-e-Shuhada, at Naqashband Sahab.
They were led by Shahid-ul-Islam as the party chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is undergoing house arrest from Friday.
As soon as Shahid and other came out of the AAC office, police swung into action and arrested Shahid.
Shahid was later on detained in police station Maharj Gunj.
Police sources told Kashmir Life that Shahid was arrested for defying the restriction orders.
Authorities had put strict restrictions in place to stop the separatists from visiting the martyrs grave yard in Naqashband Sahab.
