Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party Sunday afternoon alleged that police killed a Dalit boy – Tersem – in Jammu.

“Prof Bhim Singh was informed that three policemen in the private car were following a young man. They came out of the car in uniform and started showering bullets on the boy. They dragged the body of the boy like a gunny bag into the private car and drove away. They could have killed anybody around inside their houses,” an NPP statement said.

“Bhim Singh talked to K Rajendra, DG Police, J&K and demanded FIR against the Damana Police under Section 302 for murdering a young boy right in front of Damana Police Station this afternoon in full view of the neighbours,” the statement added.

“It is a terrorist act of the men in uniform which can only be understood as a state terror. This was second murder by men in uniform in Jammu District. Last week a young man S Jagjit Singh was gunned down on the head and the government refused to appoint a judicial inquiry,” the statement quoted Bhim as having said. He demanded immediate FIR under Section 302, follow up action against the culprits and appointment of judicial inquiry without any delayand a compensation of Rs one Crore to the family of the boy.

Bhim demanded entire reshuffle of the police in the state and urged Governor to declare emergency as the present government has failed to protect the life and property of the citizens which is the mandate of Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

Singh also called on the Panthers Party activists to take the matter for justice on the streets “if need be”. “Such acts are highly dangerous to the civil society as they threatened the very existence of the peace-loving citizens in J&K. He said there is no governance in the state. Those hoisting Pakistani, Khalistani and IS flags and raising bogey against India have full freedom and protection from the state,” he said.
