SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday launched coordinated Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) across 20 identified hotspot locations as part of a major anti-narcotics drive in the district.

According to details shared by police on X, teams conducted raids at the residences of suspected drug kingpins with the assistance of K9 squads to trace and recover narcotics and other contraband substances.
Officials said a detailed survey of properties allegedly linked to drug networks is also underway, and such assets may be taken up for attachment under provisions of the NDPS Act.
The operation forms part of the intensified anti-drug campaign titled #DrugFreeAnantnag, aimed at dismantling the financial and operational infrastructure of narcotics networks in the district.
