SRINAGAR: Police in Pulwama have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Litter at a checkpoint established at SIDCO Lassipora Crossing near Shah Hotel intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing the Police Party, tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by alert police party. During search, heroin-like contraband substance weighing 17.50 grams was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Sahil Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh resident of Tumlahal.
Accordingly, a Case vide FIR Number 38/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Litter and investigation is set into motion.
