SRINAGAR

Shabir KhanJ&K health minister Shabir Ahmad Khan has been summoned to Srinagar by police after a lady doctor registered a case against him. The case was registered at police station Shahid Gunj  in Srinagar by police under sections 354 and 509 RPC.

Initial reports revealed that Khan, during his recent stay in Srinagar, had called the lady doctor to his retiring room. Apart from suggestive talking, he is accused of making sexual advances as well. He is accused of telling her that she should come to his residence and prepare the Kehwa.

“She was compelled to visit him in the winter secretariat twice,” one source privy of the complaint said. “The lady doctor has accused the minister of making her sit in the retiring room and not with the people in the office.”

The doctor went to the police with the complaint that registered a formal case after due consultation with the high-ups. Summons have been issued Thursday for the non-bailable offence, reports said. He might end up getting arrested formally.

Khan is a Congressman who represents Rajouri in the state legislative assembly.
