SRINAGAR: Police recovered 95 kilograms of fukki during a raid on a rented accommodation in Grendash village of Pahalgam late Monday evening, arresting one person while the house owner managed to escape.
Officials said that the operation was conducted on specific information in the presence of the SDPO Pahalgam and an executive magistrate. During the search, six bags of contraband were seized, including three filled with grinded fukki and three with poppy straw pods, weighing a total of 95 kilograms.
Police arrested Parvez Ahmed Boked, son of Bashir Ahmad Boked, a resident of Ainobra, from the spot. The house owner, identified as Mukhtar Ahmed Boked, son of Rafiq Ahmed and a resident of Jammu presently living in Grendash, is on the run.
A case has been registered under FIR number 62/2025 at the local police station, and further investigation is underway. (KNT)
