SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have recovered two missing minor girls from Jammu after three days.

A police spokesman in a statement said that on 26-09-2022, Police Post Humhama received a written complaint from one Shameema resident of Handwara presently Humhama stating therein that her 02 minor daughters aged 15 years and 16 years presently residing in a rented house at Humhama went missing since 25-09-2022.

The spokesperson in a statement said that upon this information, a case FIR number 337/2022 under relevant Sections of Law was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation was set into motion.

He said that a special Police team was constituted under the supervision of Chowki Officer Humhama Insp Imtiyaz Ahmad to trace out the two minor missing girls.

He added that Police team, acting swiftly raided various locations and after strenuous efforts and working on various leads, Police team traced out both the missing minor girls from Bus Stand Jammu yesterday evening and were brought safely to Budgam by Women Police and family members.

“After fulfilling all legal formalities, the minor girls were handed over to their parents. Further investigation into the case is going on,” said police spokesman in a statement.
